British Columbia’s new Homeowner Protection Amendment Act and
Regulation will come into effect on November 19, 2007. These changes
strengthen protection for new homebuyers and will raise the bar of
professionalism in the residential construction sector, providing
consistency and improving the quality of construction in B.C. The
amendments are the result of 18 months of consultation by the HPO with
industry groups, local government, consumers and members of the public.
The residential construction industry and consumer groups have welcomed
the changes which will help the homebuilding industry serve its
customers better and give homebuyers the confidence they need. Find out
more about these important changes.
