Ian Watt :Hi good afternoon. Its Ian Watt in Downtown, Vancouver. If you live in a condo in Downtown Vancouver chances are it has sprinkler heads throughout the apartment, throughout the lobby, throughout the common areas. These litlle sprinkler heads are filled with red gel and a glass bulb. When that heats up, it heats up to a point where it will explode and release all the water to put out the fire out. Now thats the thing to be careful. I've seen a lot of people do this. They put their dry cleaning hooked on to sprinkler heads and hang them up after they iron their shirt. I'm not sure whatever it is. So some buildings have been affective a lot affected. A lot of people have broken these sprinkler heads, flooding their apartments, the apartment below and the common areas as well. So some buildings llike the one in Coal Harbour which I'm gonna cut in so you can see what its like. They have this little code hanger, do not do this warning signs in the elevator. It should be common sense. But what I've learned over the years is that not a lot of people have common sense. Common sense is not that common in Downtown Vancouver. If you wanna discuss safety in your apartment, please you can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. The thing I say everyday but I can't remember how to say it sometimes. Have a great day!
