Clean Your Vancouver Condo Dryer Vents or Talk To Your Strata

Ian Watt Video blogs about every Vancouver condo strata has guidelines and policies for cleaning dryer vents - most likely if you can access it from your outdoor space then it is your responsibility. If you want to voice your opinion or if you don't care for Ian's comments please email your feedback to ianwatt@ianwatt.ca and visit http://www.ianwatt.ca/RealEstateVideos for all the Ian Watt Real Estate Video Blogs.

Ian Watt : Hi Good Afternoon. Its Ian Watt in Downtown, Vancouver. Don't forget that in every strata , there are some bylaws, rules and general operations as far as cleaning out your dryer vents. Lots of people leave their dryer vents unattended and they clog up like this one for example (shows a sample of a clogged dryer vent) which is probably not the safest. Could cause a fire. Could back up even more down the whole tunnel, all the way back to your dryer. So make sure you clean out where you can , cause its probably your responsibility if it accesses out on to your patio or something like that. If its to a spot where you can't access it, probably your strata will have a routinely once a year cleaning and they'll hire someone to dangle off the side of the building. But if its on to your patio, make sure you clean it up. Check it every couple of months just in case. Cause you'll hate you have that back up and overheat your dryer and possibly have a fire... My name's Ian Watt. You can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca . Thank you very much and have a great day!
