Ian Watt: Hi Good afternoon! It's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. Obviously in Downtown Vancouver there's condos everywhere. On every corner on a Saturday or Sunday from 2 to 4 you can see open house. Open houses signses signs are everywhere and some stratas permit it some don't. But my feeling is, open houses should only be done when it's the first showing, the first weekend, or price changes or maybe an agent's open just to get all realtors through. Open houses don't necessarily sell your condo because if someone serious, chances are they're gonna make an appointment to come and see it. People don't just walk in and stumble in and it's different from how it was before because people are not really all that... What's the word? In a rush I guess for that they have to see it that weekend and put an offer in. So it's very important that open houses are done under the three circumstances: new listing, price changes, and agent's open but don't expect me to do an open house every single weekend coz' we I think we have 14 or 16 open or listings right now and there's no way we can do them every single weekend. And there's no way that they're going to sell your place. The serious buyers make appointments. My name is Ian Watt and if you have any questions. you can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
