Ian Watt video blogs about a condo owner in Downtown Vancouver who is suing the strata (the home owner's associations) because his dishwasher seal leaked and water dripped down in to the condo below. Ian Watt: Hi Good Afternoon, It's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. Here's something that I've never seen before. A guy in a Strata building in Downtown is suing the Strata because his dishwasher leaked, the seal on the dishwasher leaked and a flooded his apartment. The little damaged in one down below but he's suing the Strata. Keep in mind that what happens in your unit with your appliances is generally your fault and your responsibility. So make sure you have some insurance but if you're thinking of suing the Strata for something that happens in your building or in your suite chances are you. You just gonna be wasting a lot of money and wasting Strata's money as well to defend themselves. You're not gonna win if this guy goes to court and beats the Strata because his appliance broke. I'll be shocked, I'll be shocked. I'll update it if that happens but I really doubt it. My name is Ian Watt. If you have any questions on insurance. Check out Yaletown Insurance Lindsay Decraene is the woman you should speak with or you can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
