Your Realtor Can Search Real Estate Listings for You Based on Commission Offered

Ian Watt video blogs about how eventhough the Real Estate Council and the Real Estate Boards tell us we should put our clients best interest before our own, why can we search and set our client's auto-notification searches based on commission rates? Ian Watt: Hi Good Afternoon, its Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. I've talked about this before. There is no set commission when it comes to real estate in Canada. So we can put whatever commission that we want. However a lot of realtors are a little bit touchy on this subject coz' they expect to get a certain amount. Most of them not everyone. But I think it's very ironic on or MLS system, the realtor MLS system we have the ability to put in search criteria, put in your email address or clients email address if something gets listed that suits that criteria it gets emailed to our client. But I think it's very interesting that we can set how much commission we expect. So for example if we expect over 3% or over 2%. There is a search criteria that we can put in the parameters that sends our clients only commissions at x amount and I think its so backwards because we supposed to be looking out for our clients best interest, that's what were told by our Real Estate Board or Real Estate Councils. However, it allows us to cut out all the lower commission companies and only send a higher commission companies or it could be backward but I really don't think it's gonna be that way. It's just a slippery slope not lookin' out in our clients best interest so if you have a realtor who's sending you stuff of on auto notification you might wanna have this conversion with them or if you have any questions. My name is Ian Watt. You can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
