Ian Watt: Hi good afternoon! It’s Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. Last week I've done a video blog regarding how the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. Doesn't really understand Web 2.0 and how it applies to our real estate business. Now in regards, for example twitter on twitter we have a hundred and forty characters to say anything. What were doing, where we are, here's a link to my website and here's my new listing. In a hundred and forty characters I cannot put I worked for Sutton West Coast or Re/Max or Century 21 and still put my message out there. It's impossible and I have it on my website and I think that's a great thing because our website is our main page, it's our ID, it's like a driver's license or a credit card that's how we proved who we are. And the thing is if you want me to start disclosing on every single social media tool that we have that I'm at Sutton Group West Coast Realty. There is no way that it's gonna work and furthermore if we have on or videos that ianwatt.ca video. If I put my brokerage on my website on my real estate page. That is fantastic! However, if I put it on the video and the video is out there and next year I'd change to Re/Max, year after that I change to Century 21. Those videos are out there forever and they just gonna cause more confusion for everybody who this little law is going to protect. I think what people should do is hire, the Real Estate Board that is should hire independent web 2.0 consultant they should get on that and stop making the rules themselves because they don't have an idea how it's going to work and how it's gonna affect people for the long term. I had so many people email me reply after sending that video out there. So I'm not the only one who thinks this way. I think the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board should look into it in an independent manner and then update their protocol for that. My name is Ian Watt. you can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
