Are You Serious? Who Advertises Real Estate In Newspapers Anymore?

Ian Watt video blogs about how many realtors are advertising in newspapers to show their clients they are getting exposure for their property. The unfortunate thing is that nobody ever reads newspapers anymore and the buyer`s eyeballs are on the web. If you want to voice your opinion or if you don't care for Ian's comments please email your feedback to ianwatt@ianwatt.ca and visit http://www.ianwatt.ca/RealEstateVideos for all the Ian Watt Real Estate Video Blogs.

Ian Watt: Hi Good Afternoon, its Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. It's always fascinating to see other realtors on what their doing out there and I am not here to knock out the realtors but part of my talked that I give that when I get hired to do social media speaking is looking back over the past ten years and how the world is changed. And one thing that really apparent is that the techniques and things people would using as realtors were using ten years ago, they're still using today. And it's very interesting  because back ten years ago, all the eyeballs were focused on newspapers and then you skipped about five years later in about 2004, and a lot of eyeballs were on HG TV, and a lot of eyeballs were on stuffed like the real estate book, which is no longer available in Vancouver. Now, all the eyeballs are on Twitter, Facebook and on Google yet all these realtors are still doing the same advertising. Flyers, calendars, newspaper advertising – is crazy! It's so unbelievable that people are still doing these things even though we know the eyeballs are actually online now. It's a waste of money and if somebody is going to a listing presentation and would you with how much money they spend in advertising. You should give a head of shakin' actually think about where the eyeballs are today. My name is Ian Watt and if you have any questions you could always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
