Ian Watt video blogs about how you just can't boot out your tenants to make the condo show better for sale, you have to follow the guidelines from the Residential Tenancy Office and for more information please check here http://www.rto.gov.bc.ca/content/rightsResponsibilities/default.aspx . Ian Watt: Hi, Good afternoon! It's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver.
Please keep in mind that when your selling in a tentative property that
the tenancy actually runs with the property and you can't actually boot
the mouth just to sell your place. Make sure you check with the
Residential Tenancy Office or I think it's rto.bc.ca or something just
type in rto Residential Tenancy Office and you will get all the
information you need, But keep in mind you cannot boot the mouth if they
are on the month to month. Maybe you can ask them to leave and if they
want to leave and then you negotiate something, great. But you cannot
ask them to leave and just bot them out cause you want to sell it.
Having said that the new purchaser if the owner if they want to be the
owner occupier they can give them the sufficient notice to move in
themselves. But you can't just boot them out to make the place just show
better. Does show a lot better without tenants trust me. My name is Ian
Watt and if you have any questions. You could always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
