Seriously? The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver says No Domains?

Ian Watt video blogs about how he included the domain  http://www.electricavenue.ca/ in his description of a listing in one of his MLS listings so all the interested parties could find all the strata documents which were posted by the Electric Avenue strata council. Unfortunately the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver says no domains are to be included on the MLS listings - no transparency - which is completely opposite of how the modern world is going and what the real estate consumers expect. If you want to voice your opinion or if you don't care for Ian's comments please email your feedback to ianwatt@ianwatt.ca and visit http://www.ianwatt.ca/RealEstateVideos for all the Ian Watt Real Estate Video Blogs. Ian Watt: Hi good afternoon it's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. Lot of trouble from the Real Estate Board a little slap on the they send me an email the other day because it clearly states that we are not allowed to put domains in the description or anything on our listing. I called the building ElectricAvenue.ca we have a property for sale in the building called the Electric Avenue and I just put .ca because the strata council post all their strata minutes, all the documents, all their financial on their site there's a link on it so I thought that's great. The more information the general public knows about what they're buying the better. But they send me an email saying we're not allowed to call even though the buildings called the electric avenue we can't put the domain electricavenue.ca up there. Which is kind of crazy because we want everybody to know as much as we can. We want the real estate industry to be as transparent as possible. But I guess the real estate were doesn't want to do that we can't put ianwatt.ca even though on realtor.ca it has all the information about who the listing agent is in that google. So what I did in the public description I wrote: for all the strata documents please google "electric avenue" that's what I did instead of putting electricavenue.ca. Hopefully this will educate the public and tell people where to find all the information. Hopefully the real estate board will all have the bird and make me take it down. The general public wants information. I'm sorry that our industry is so behind the time as far as that's concern but who really cares it's all about serving the general public. So if you need strata documents google the word electric and avenue but don't google electricavenue.ca because the real estate doesn't want me to tell you to do that. My name is Ian Watt and if you have any questions you can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great!
