The Competition Bureau Opens Up Real Estate For Discounted Commissions

Ian Watt video blogs about how in a landmark investigation, the Canadian Competition Bureau has concluded the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has anticompetitive rules and must change its ways, meaning that real estate fees and commission will open up for discounted real estate practices such as www.CondoGo.com . Ian Watt:
Hi Good Afternoon, It's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. On this rainy November day. Recently we just got some information from our Real Estate Board saying that the Competition Bureau in Canada as really found that the Canadian Real Estate Association is doing a little bit of unfair practice. Looks like were going to be able to change everything which allows people that are not even supplying a service as a realtor to post everything on the MLS. Before it seem like you have to supply some sort of service but now it's seems like I'm a  realtor, I don't have to do anything, I can still post in to MLS for a nominal fee. What's gonna happen is were gonna see a lot of for sell by owners and companies sprouten up that don't do anything except showcase listings online. I think it's fantastic the people that is supplying a service the always room for them and the people that wanna go discount always be room for them that is fantastic. It's gonna open up fair trade as far as our Real Estate Commissions are concerned. My name is Ian Watt. And to find out more about this report from the Competition Bureau. You can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
