The Ritz-Carlton Vancouver to Become A Marriott?
Ian Watt video blogs about how the one time pre-sale Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts in Downtown Vancouver might be now slated to become the Marriott with a strata residential condo component as well. Ian Watt: Hi Good Afternoon, it's Ian Watt in Downtown
Vancouver. I think you might remember a few years back. There was the
Ritz-Carlton which was being marketed as a pre-sale by Rennie Resales
at that time. And during the digging of the whole the excavation of the
foundation they decided to pull the plug on the on a whole project. Now
nobody knows really why why got pulled that time but that was the time
when the economy was just tanking really bad. And I can't understand
why. Now a lot of people are wondering if the Ritz-Carlton is coming
back so we did some digging around and what we found and this is not
confirm so I don't want any lawyers sending me letters. I'm just saying
what we found out that they are going to go ahead and build a strata
residential plus hotel place in the same unit but its not gonna be the
Ritz-Carlton. It looks like its going to be a Marriott. So the panache
is a little bit lost on a Marriott but nonetheless I'm sure its going
to be a fantastic development and that little area were in desperate
need to see a building there because it has been a pit in that one
little area of Georgia Street ever since I was a child I can't even
remember what was there before but it was a building that had been half
built and then they dug a hole is a big boyd in the street right now.
Right across from the Shangri-la they desperately need something
beautiful there and it doesn't even matter if its not the Ritz if its
the Marriott fantastic! My name is Ian Watt and if you have any
information that you can share on this development with me. you can
always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
