Ian Watt video blogs about how if you had your real estate for sale signs stolen, you might want to check with the City of Vancouver's Alan Rockett - he's in charge of realtor sign confiscation. Ian Watt: Hi Good afternoon! It's Ian Watt in Downtown Vancouver. I want to talk about a man who controls everything. He's name is Alan Rockett. He is at the city of Vancouver. He is in-charge of confiscating realtor signs that are improperly place. Now on June 3rd I look at this, my lovely Ian Watt sign for sale got confiscated because it was on the city grass. In front of the condo as you can see there is no place for a sign because they have big hedges so I suck the sign out there and sure enough Alan Rockett's job is to go around take pictures of this realtor signs and confiscate them. Then on June 4th he sends me a letter from the city saying "well this is a infraction of the by law and the sign must state open house or the sign would be removed. Now it doesn't say open house but if people are so damn that they don't know whats going on. Then I don't want them coming into my open house if they just see for sale with an arrow pointing for example coz' most of my directional signs just have arrows and they say Ian Watt. But they don't say open house so if he's gonna take them away they take them away. Then on top of that he sends me a hundred dollar invoice and if I don't pay within 30 days as 1% per month will be charge with interest. That is the issue here this guy job is all about harassing realtors for their signs and obviously I paid here's my receipt right here. But the funny thing is this kind like a sign felled up and so if anybody seen that sign fell where that guy Mr. Bookman is coming after this people for an outstanding book at the at the library. That's what I find this to be kind of silly. I still have to make an appointment to go and get my sign and hopefully they will give it back to me. But it is what it is cost me a hundred bucks is a cost of doing business but I'm just surprised Alan Rockett is out there his job is to take away realtors signs if they are not properly placed. I don't know alan.rockett with two t's at the end at vancouver.ca. If your sign has been taken away check with Alan he's the man to do the guy who handles all this. My name is Ian Watt and if you have any questions. You can always email me at ianwatt@ianwatt.ca. Thank you very much and have a great day!
